CICA Non-governmental Forum was established to gather together under one roof former politicians, think tanks, media and people to people organizations to play a full role in maintaining regional stability, seeking effective ways to address regional peace and security and development issues. For further realization of these objectives, the Second Conference of the CICA Non-governmental Forum, hosted by the Chinese People’s Institute of Foreign Affairs, was held on June 2017 in Beijing, with the theme: “25 Years of CICA: for the Asian Security and Development”. Participants of the Conference discussed issues such as current security situation in Asia, how to achieve common, comprehensive, cooperative and sustainable security in Asia and jointly build the Belt and Road (Silk Road Economic Belt and 21st-Century Maritime Silk Road).

Mr. Syed Munir Khasru, Chairman, Institute for Policy, Advocacy & Governance (IPAG) was invited to participate in the Forum to share views about the Asian security and development dynamics with other participants. He spoke in a Roundtable Panel on ‘The Changing Geopolitical Dynamics in Asia: Implications & Challenges for Future Security Cooperation & Alliances in the Region.’
