Dr. S.D. Muni is Professor Emeritus in the School of International Studies, Jawaharlal Nehru University. Professor S.D. Muni is member of IDSA's Executive Council and a Distinguished Fellow (Hon.). For nearly forty years, he taught, conducted and supervised research, in International Relations and South Asian Studies at Jawaharlal Nehru University, National University of Singapore, Banaras Hindu University, and University of Rajasthan.
Prof. Muni was invited to address the UN Special Committee on Indian Ocean as a Zone of Peace at Sochi, then as part of the Soviet Union, in 1985. He served as India's Special Envoy to SE Asian countries on UNSC Reforms (2005) and represented India’s Minister of External Affairs at the 50th Anniversary celebrations of the Paris Peace Conference, held in Phnom Penh, Kampuchea. He was also India’s Ambassador to Lao People's Democratic Republic (1997-99). Prof. Muni was nominated to the first ever constituted National Security Advisory Board of India during 1990-91. He was the founding executive member of the Regional Centre of Strategic Studies, Colombo, Sri Lanka, and also served on the Executive Council of the Institute for Defence Studies and Analyses (IDSA), New Delhi, India. In 2005, he was bestowed with 'Sri Lanka Ratna', Sri Lanka's highest national honour for a foreign national.
Author and editor of nearly thirty books & monographs and more than 200 research papers, Prof. Muni was also the founder editor of two prestigious quarterly Journals in India, The South Asia Journal and Indian Foreign Affairs Journal.

Prof. Sachin Chaturvedi is Director General at the Research and Information System for Developing Countries (RIS), a New Delhi-based policy research institute, supported by the Government of India. He was Global Justice Fellow at the MacMillan Center for International Affairs at Yale University. He has done his Ph.D. in Economics. He works on issues related to development economics, involving development finance. He is also on the board of the Reserve Bank of India.
He has authored/edited 10 books, apart from contributing chapters in edited volumes and publishing several research articles in various prestigious journals.
He has served as a Visiting Professor at the Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU). He had been a Developing Country Fellow at the University of Amsterdam (1996) and Visiting Fellow at the Institute of Advanced Studies, Shimla (2003), and Visiting Scholar at the German Development Institute (2007). He is also on the Editorial Advisory Board of IDS Bulletin, Sussex, UK.

Syed Munir Khasru, an MBA from the Wharton School of Business, University of Pennsylvania, US founded the international think tank, the Institute for Policy, Advocacy, and Governance (IPAG). IPAG is one of the 1st think tanks from the Global South which has already established presence in four continents i.e. Asia Pacific (Melbourne), Europe (Vienna), Middle-East and North Africa (Dubai), starting from Dhaka.
Khasru’s areas of specialization include economy & trade, international relations & strategic affairs, technology & innovation, governance & management. Was the principal climate negotiator for the Govt of India from 2008 to 2013 and again during 2016-17. Currently working as an expert and Distinguished Fellow in TERI, an environmental thinktank in New Delhi, India.

Subhomoy Bhattacharjee is Consulting Editor with the Business Standard newspaper, India's most respected financial daily. He is also Consultant (energy sector & governance) at RIS, the think tank which works closely with the ministries of external affairs, finance, and commerce. He is also Adjunct Faculty, teaching Economics at OP Jindal Global University.
He works on public policy, primarily finance, energy and geopolitical issues. His latest book “India’s Coal Story”, traces how India’s coal reserves were at the center of a major political scandal that nearly sent a Prime Minister to jail. It explores the tussle since Independence between Indian business and government on energy policy & sketches the options for India's future energy security. His earlier book was “Special Economic Zones in India; Myths and Realities” (co-authored).
He studied Economics at the Delhi School of Economics, Delhi University and did his undergraduate studies in Economics at the Shri Ram College of Commerce, Delhi University. He has earlier worked in the Govt of India having joined it through the civil services examination (IIS-Group A) & has since moved to The Economic Times, Indian Express & Financial Express newspapers. Nicolas (Nick) Loris, an economist, focuses on the energy, environmental, and regulatory issues as the Deputy Director of the Thomas A. Roe Institute for Economic Policy Studies and Herbert and Joyce Morgan fellow at The Heritage Foundation.
Loris studies and writes about energy supplies, energy prices, and other economic effects of environmental policies and regulations, including climate change legislation, energy efficiency mandates, and energy subsidies. He also covers coal, oil, natural gas, nuclear gas, and renewable energy policy and articulates the benefits of free-market environmentalism.
Loris has testified 13 times before House and Senate committees. He has been published and quoted in major newspapers such as The Wall Street Journal and The New York Times. His radio and television appearances include CNN, Fox News Channel, MSNBC, and National Public Radio.

Dr. Simon Chin-Yee joined King’s College London in 2017. Based in the European Centre for Energy and Resource Security (EUCERS) in the War Studies department, Simon’s current research focus is on human security and climate change in vulnerable populations. He attained his Ph.D. in Politics from the University of Manchester (July 2018). Entitled Defining Policy: Drivers of Climate Change Policy in Kenya, his thesis was based on extensive training in the international political economy and is a thorough climate policy analysis on three levels: international, regional and national.
In addition to his role in academia, Simon has over 12 years of experience in international cooperation and policy having worked extensively with the United Nations and policy projects.

Dr. Nagesh Kumar is Director and Head of the South and South-West Asia (SSWA) Office of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP) based in New Delhi. He earlier served as Chief Economist of UNESCAP and Director of Macroeconomic Policy and Development Division (MPDD) and Director of Social Development Division, at the UNESCAP headquarters in Bangkok.
Before joining UNESCAP in 2009, Dr Kumar served as Director-General of Research and Information System for Developing Countries (RIS), and also on the faculty of the United Nations University-Institute for New Technologies (UNU/INTECH, now UNU-MERIT) in Maastricht, the Netherlands. He has also served as a consultant to the World Bank, Asian Development Bank, UNDP, UNCTAD, UNIDO, UN-DESA, ILO, the Commonwealth Secretariat, and the Commission on Intellectual Property Rights, among others.
Dr Kumar has served on the board of directors of the Export-Import Bank of India, and on the Governing Boards of the International Centre for Trade and Sustainable Development (ICTSD), Geneva; the South Asia Centre for Policy Studies (SACEPS), Kathmandu; and the Institute of Studies in Industrial Development, New Delhi, besides a number of committees, task forces and expert groups set up by the Government of India.
He co-founded the South Asia Economic Journal (published by Sage) and was its co-editor during 2000-2009. He has written popular columns in Business Standard, Financial Express, the Economic Times, leading financial dailies published from New Delhi.

Since 2006, Paul Power has served as Chief Executive Officer of the Refugee Council of Australia, the national umbrella body for non-government organizations working with refugees and people seeking asylum. Paul serves in the leadership of the Asia Pacific Refugee Rights Network as deputy chair of the network’s Australia, New Zealand and Pacific Working Group. He participates actively in the Annual Tripartite Consultations on Resettlement, the global dialogue between NGOs, governments, and UNHCR on refugee resettlement, co-chairing the annual consultations and the Working Group on Resettlement in 2011-12. He served on the Australian Government’s Refugee Resettlement Advisory Council from 2008 to 2014. Prior to his current role, Paul worked in the NGO sector as a media officer, trainer, researcher and manager and in the newspaper industry as a journalist and editor.

Mr. Mundia joined UNHCR in 1993 and throughout his career has served in many field operations as well as UNHCR Headquarters, Geneva in various capacities. The operations covered include Uganda, Liberia, Tanzania, South Sudan, Ethiopia, and Pakistan.
Between 2004 - 2005, Mr. Mundia worked on secondment to the Department of Peace Keeping Operations with the UN Mission in Liberia as a Special Assistant to the Deputy Special Representative of the Secretary General. He has also served as a Senior Inspection Officer in Inspector’s General Office; the Operations Manager; and later Deputy Director of Africa Bureau in UNHCR Headquarters, as well as Head of UNHCR Office in Peshawar, Pakistan and for a short period of time as Regional Representative a.i for the UNHCR Southern Africa operations. From 2018 until his assignment to India as Chief of Mission, he worked as the Senior Solutions Coordinator, Bureau of Africa at UNHCR Headquarters.
Mr. Mundia holds a Master’s degree in Management from Thunderbird - American Graduate School of International Management in the USA; and a Bachelors’ in Political Science at the University of Nairobi, Kenya.

Dr. Amitabh Kundu is currently Distinguished Fellow at the Research and Information System for Developing Countries. He is chairing the Committee overviewing the survey for Swatch Bharat Mission (Rural). He was Regional Advisor on Poverty at UNESCWA, Beirut during 2017 and Consultant to the Government of Sri Lanka during 2016. Until January 2014, he was Professor at the Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. He has been the Dean of the School of Social Sciences and has served as a member of National Statistical Commission during 2006-08. He has been chairperson of the post Sachar Evaluation Committee, set up by the Ministry of Minority Affairs and was a Visiting Professor at the University of Amsterdam, Sciences Po and Maison des Sciences de L’homme in Paris, University of Kaiserslautern and University of Wuerzburg in Germany. He has worked as Director at various institutes in India and is in the Editorial Board of Manpower Journal, Urban India, Journal of Educational Planning and Administration, Indian Journal of Labor Economics. Navsharan Singh is a senior programme specialist with the International Development Research Centre, Canada, based in the Asia office in New Delhi where she leads research programmes in Asia on Governance and Justice. She holds degrees in economics, political economy, and a Ph. D in political science. She has researched and published on mass violence, sexual violence, dalit women’s rights, labour rights and reparations for mass violence. Her latest published works include Landscapes of Fear: Understanding Impunity in India (2015); contributions to Splintered Justice Living the Horror of Mass Communal Violence in Bhagalpur and Gujarat (2016); Writing Dalit women in political economy of agrarian crisis and resistance in Punjab (2016); Sexual Violence and Impunity in South Asia (2018).

Ms. Bettina Tucci Bartsiotas is the Director of UNICRI. She has a wealth of senior-level experience in the management of complex international organizations, with emphasis on strategic planning, programme design, budgeting and finance. Throughout her career she has held leadership positions in various international organizations covering normative, development, humanitarian, and peace and security matters. At the time of her appointment as Director a.i. UNICRI, Ms. Bartsiotas was Assistant Secretary-General, Controller of the United Nations Secretariat. From 1994 to 2014, Ms. Bartsiotas held various senior management positions at the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Vienna (Austria), and the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), New York. Previously she held positions in the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the Inter-American Development Bank (IADB), Washington, D.C.
Ms. Bartsiotas has helped define the strategy and direction of the International Public-Sector Accounting Standards (IPSAS) and was involved in the planning and implementation of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, as well as bringing management improvements to the organizations she served. Ms. Bartsiotas holds an MBA degree in finance and investments from George Washington University, and a BA degree in economics and business administration from the American University in Washington, D.C. She is a dual national of Uruguay and the United States.

As the Cybercrime Investigation and Cybersecurity (CIC) Program Coordinator at Boston University, Dr. Choi oversees the graduate programs in Cybercrime Investigation and Cybersecurity (CIC). In addition, Dr. Choi is the Director of the Center for Cybercrime Investigation and Cybersecurity. His goal is to foster research and training in the field of cybercrime and cybersecurity.
Dr. Choi currently facilitates the International Journal of Cybercrime and Cybersecurity Intelligence as both the Editor-in-Chief and the founding editor. Dr. Choi also conducts his own academic research, focusing on the intersection of human behavior and technology and how criminal justice can respond effectively to the challenges of cybercrime. In 2008, he proposed the Cyber-Routine Activities Theory, which has become a predominant theory of computer crime victimization. His work has appeared in numerous peer-reviewed journals. He is the author of the books Risk Factors in Computer Crime (2010), Cybercriminology and Digital Investigation (2015), and Cibercriminología. Guía para la investigación del cibercrimen y mejores practices en seguridad digital [Cybercriminology: Guide for cybercrime investigation and best practices in digital security] (2017).

Captain Alok Bansal is Director at India Foundation. He is also Adjunct Professor at New Delhi Institute of Management and the Secretary General of Asian Eurasian Human Rights Forum, an organisation with ECOSOC status. He was founding Executive Director of the South Asian Institute for Strategic Affairs (SAISA) and facilitator of India Policy Group on Afghanistan for Track II Dialogues by Friedrich Ebert Stiftung. He was a visiting professor in Pakistan Studies Programme at Jamia Millia Islamia. He has been the Executive Director of the National Maritime Foundation and has also worked with the IDSA, and CLAWS.
He served in the Indian Navy for 32 years, before seeking early retirement. He has authored two books titled Balochistan in Turmoil: Pakistan at Cross Roads and Gilgit-Baltistan and its Saga of Unending Human Rights Violations. He has co-edited South Asian security: 21st century discourses, Pakistan Occupied Kashmir: The Untold Story, Sri Lanka: Search for Peace and Geopolitics of Himalayan Region: Cultural, Political and Strategic Dimensions. He has authored numerous research papers, chapters in books and articles. He participates regularly in Track II Dialogues, TV and radio talk shows and delivers talks in various civil and military institutions in India and abroad.

Dr. Priyadarshi Dash is Assistant Professor at Research and Information System for Developing Countries (RIS), New Delhi, India. His research interests broadly cover topics in foreign exchange reserves, macroeconomics, international trade and finance, and blue economy. He has contributed to RIS work programme on issues of regional economic cooperation in Indian Ocean Rim Association (IORA), BIMSTEC, Asia-Africa Growth Corridor and G20. Dr. Dash has published a book titled “Universal Banking in India: Evolution, Trends and Performance” and several papers in peer-reviewed journals and edited volumes. He is a member of the Editorial Advisory Board of the Cambridge Scholars Publishing, London; member of the Editorial Board of Advances in Economics and Business, and Managing Editor of RIS bi-monthly publication G20 Digest. He has worked with Korea Institute for Industrial Economics and Trade (KIET), Seoul as a ‘Visiting Fellow’ in 2012 under a fellowship by the Asia Foundation. Hitomi Kubo is the Resource Mobilization Officer with the United Nations Human Security Unit (HSU), leading its strategic partnerships, policy advocacy and outreach, and overseeing the UN Trust Fund for Human Security programme team. She brings more than a decade of experience in human security and its application, including previous work with the HSU in 2011-2012. From 2013 to 2016, Ms. Kubo was the Senior Vice President for Policy Development at Microclinic International, where she initiated multi-stakeholder partnerships among Governments, international organizations and national associations to strengthen the link between health and development strategies, particularly in fragile contexts. From 2007-2012, she was the Co-Director of the Concentration in Human Security at the Master of Public Affairs, Sciences Po University in Paris. She has a successful track record managing multidimensional interventions and processes that stakeholders value, improving policy through community-based research and practice evidence, driving advocacy initiatives that work, and leading teams through complex projects. She holds degrees from the University of Chicago, the University of Washington, and Sciences Po, Paris.

Joseph M. Siracusa is Professor of Human Security and International Diplomacy and Senior Associate at The Australian APEC Study Centre, Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology University (Melbourne, Australia). He is also the President of Australia’s Council for the Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences. Born and bred in Chicago and a long-time resident of Australia, he studied at the University of Denver and the University of Vienna and received his PhD from the University of Colorado (Boulder).
Professor Siracusa is a regular commentator at home and overseas, including ABC Television and Radio, CNN and the BBC. He has been widely interviewed on presidential politics, nuclear diplomacy, and global security. He has previously worked as an account executive at Merrill Lynch; the University of Queensland; and as a senior fellow in the Key Centre for Ethics, Law, Justice and Governance, Griffith University. Professor Siracusa has authored and co-authored more than three dozen books. He is also a series editor of Rowman & Littlefield's Weapons of Mass Destruction series.

A career bureaucrat, Dr. P. K. Anand has served the Government of India and the State governments in various capacities. He was the Senior Advisor, Planning Commission of Government of India (GoI). He had also served as the Secretary (JS) in the Ministry of Rural Development and in the Ministry of Defence and was the Director (Exports) in the Ministry of Textiles. In Planning Commission, besides Industry, Minerals, Research, Economic Divisions he also headed the Programme Evaluation Organization which had 15 field units across the country.
He holds M.Sc. (Physics) and M.Sc. (Economics) from London School of Economics (LSE). He is a Fellow of the Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT) and holds a PhD in Economics. He was also awarded gold medal in Advanced Professional Programme in Public Administration (APPPA).
