The G20 is a forum of the 20 most politically and economically powerful countries of the world. The network of leading research institutes and think tanks from the G20 countries are represented in a forum of think tanks called Think20 (T20) which provides research-based policy advice to the G20 Leadership, facilitates interaction among G20 members and the policy community, and communicates issues of global importance to the relevant stakeholders.

For the G20 Leadership Summit 2020 to be held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia on November 21-22, 2020, IPAG has been selected as a Member of three Task Forces to write 3 Policy Briefs on the following issues:

  1. Task Force 2: Climate Change and Environment

Policy Brief Topic: Displaced Population of Environmental Perils: Challenges of Climate Migrants for The G20 Community

2. Task Force 6: Economy, Employment, and Education in the Digital Age

Policy Brief Topic: The Impacts of Artificial Intelligence and Technological Disruption on Education, Employment, and Workplaces

3. Task Force 7: G20 support for SDGs and Development Cooperation

Policy Brief Topic: Incentivizing the Private Sector To support UN’s SDGs

 

On March 26, the G20 leaders came together uniting against the coronavirus pandemic to tackle its health & socio-economic impacts as well as restoring confidence, preserving financial stability and reviving growth. On that note, the think tank Secretariat of G20 has invited IPAG to write Policy Briefs on COVID-19 and following are the four additional areas on which IPAG will write the Policy Briefs for the G20 Leadership Summit 2020:

  1. The COVID-19 Outbreak and Inequitable access to Global Health Care Systems
  2. Social, Cultural, and Community Resilience Efforts during COVID-19 Crisis
  3. Regional and Global Exchange of Health Services and Information
  4. Multilateralism in times of Global Pandemic: The COVID-19 Experience
