The program sought to develop capacity and create awareness among government officials, policy makers and other key stakeholders about competition issues. As the government is on its way to form a Competition Commission, the training program was designed to help the public and private sector develop better understanding on competition issues, guide them in supporting the efforts of the Commission, and clarify their respective roles and responsibilities. Given the nascent stage of the Competition Law, such training facilitates generating awareness and imparting necessary knowhow necessary for development of an effective and participatory competition regime.
