Mr. Syed Munir Khasru with his IPAG team attended a meeting with the 2nd Largest Social Sciences Think Tank-The Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences (SASS) on the 28th of August, 2015 in China.
The key person in the meeting were Prof. Wang Zhan, Deputy of the Chinese National People’s Congress and President of SASS and Dr. Wu Xueming, Director, Office of International Cooperation of SASS.
The main purpose of the meeting was to take SASS-IPAG institutional cooperation forward based on shared interests.
Mr. Khasru mentioned the prospects of cooperation on the area of Maritime Silk Road cooperation. Prof. Zhan mentioned that in 2016 he will undertake visit of Myanmar as well as Bangladesh and the One Belt One Road initiative including the Maritime Silk Road initiative.
The discussion culminated with determination to strengthen academic exchanges, jointly organize a one/two day international conclave on economic and strategic cooperation and promote China-Bangladesh cooperation in the future where the Vice President and the Director in charge of International Cooperation will suggest relevant areas of joint research & cooperation to promote China-Bangladesh cooperation.
