G20 US PRESIDENCY 2026

With the US G20 Presidency 2026 now underway, the world’s largest economy is setting the stage for a consequential year of global decision-making on growth, innovation, energy security, trade, and finance. The process will culminate in the G20 Leaders’ Summit in Miami, Florida, on December 14–15, 2026 bringing together the leaders of the world’s major economies at a defining moment for the international economic and geopolitical order.

Ahead of Miami, the Think Tank led process T20 US Summit will convene in New York on Nov 18–19, 2026 at the Ford Foundation Center for Social Justice, gathering leading think tanks, scholars, and policy voices to shape ideas and recommendations that can feed into the wider G20 process.

Prof. Syed Munir Khasru, Chairman of IPAG International, US has been appointed to the T20 US 2026 Advisory Council, joining a distinguished group of international policy leaders contributing to the intellectual agenda of the US G20 Presidency. He will speak at the plenary session on “Governing AI and other innovative technologies,” Nov 18 (Wed) 2026 from 2:15 – 3:00 pm, drawing on IPAG’s longstanding engagement with the G20 on AI, digital transformation, economic development, and responsible technology governance.

IPAG’s engagement will extend further through Deep Dive Session on, “Energy security for the AI economy: Powering the next era of growth,” which IPAG is organizing in collaboration with the Centre for International Governance Innovation (CIGI), Canada led by its President, Paul Samson on Nov 18 (Wed) 2026 from 3:15 – 4:30 pm (Auditorium). The session will bring together two defining challenges of the AI era, how to sustain rapid technological growth and how to secure the energy systems needed to power it.
